Lunch Queue Conversations

"I was thinking I should go for some chicken today but then realised I don't want to get a taste of it."

"Why not?"

"I will start wanting it every day. I want to stay vegetarian as much as possible."

"Hmm..."

"It all started as a health issue. Wanting to eat healthier. But now I think it is a moral issue."

"So you don't want to kill animals?"

"Yes."

"What about killing plants?"

"Well I got to eat something..."

"Then I guess you can survive on air, water and milk"

"What about the bacteria in all of those? Whatever I do, I will be killing something for my survival"

"Well you will go to the heaven where people who don't kill too many things go."

"Damn. Thats why God is god. He must be the only one in the main heaven. He doesn't kill anyone ever. He just exists."

"Hmm. Hehe."

"Wait. God created everything. Everything dies. God is the biggest killer of all. Why the hell is he in the main heaven?!"

"Thats because everything that he created dies, just goes back into the system. It is a closed system. What dies feeds the ones that are born."

"Zero-sum game then?"

"Yup."

"Well in one of the Chinese dialects its pronounced "Potatoe" and in the other one its pronounced "Potatoe". Different pronunciation but its written the same way. Its the same word."

"How is it the same word if it is pronounced differently?"

"Because it is written exactly the same!"

"Yeah but words were formed when people started speaking them often. Whats your definition of a word?"

"Yes, but they are pronounced differently..."

"You are basically asking for the definition of a word then. What a word is?"

"Yes. I think that is much harder to gauge. I think most of what or how a word started is now forgotten."

"Yeah. Its like England and America. The Americans just refused to speak the Queen's English."

"Ehh...something like that."
